Electric Scooter burns victim that lost everything in the fire and I’m asking for help to get some of my possessions back
Hauraki, Auckland
On the 29th July 2023 in Wellington I was the victim of a lithium ion electric scooter explosion. Besides the painful burns to approximately 30% of my body I also lost all of my work and personal possessions which I did not have insurance for and I pretty much lost everything I owned. Before the accident I was a mad keen surfer/snowboarder who loved working but everything I owned was in the room that burnt down. I’ve got a 20-24 month rehab and in that time I would really love to get back in the water etc. So I really need help to get back to normality. I have included photos of my injury’s of which I’m scared for life, the room in which the explosion occurred that I had only just walked in to and me surfing in the Mentawais, Indonesia.
Lost Work equipment, surfing equipment wetsuits etc laptop etc I lost approximately $25,000 worth so any donations to help would be amazing and greatly appreciated!

Wow and what a difference Givealittle can make, it’s really not all about money, hey it’s going to help me get back to a sort of life I had before my accident but the big thing is the connections I’ve made over my lifetime with people is truly amazing. The kindness and concern people have for me is truly heart felt, I’m blown away and hey not surprised because 99.9 % of you are such a bunch of special characters as I thought when I first met all of you!!! Talk about realisation of what life is all about “One human helping another “ and with all of the crap that is going on around the world at the moment, it’s truly commendable to all of you whether you have donated or just contacted me with your concern, it has helped my mental health immensely. So thank you to all of you for being you!!!
My injuries are slowly but surely heading in the right direction, today I went to Hands On in Akoranga Drive where I complete some strength tests each appointment and today’s appointment didn’t disappoint, my hand strength and movement is coming in leaps and bounds, my legs are nearly there with 10 or so open wounds closing up so I’m not far from being able to get back in the sea water and go for a swim, maybe half km to a km but we’ll see, then next step is a paddle on one of my surfboards, then bound for Raglan I feel is just around the corner, anyway I’ll stay in the day and just say thank you and I also look forward to catching up with all donators to thank personally.
