Given by 55 generous donors in around 5 months

A memorial walkway for babies and children who have passed away

Wellington

Helping parents and their families create a happy memory for their children while creating a beautiful work of art for other families and children to enjoy

Sarah Field's involvement (page creator)

I am the driving force behind it. My Daughter Lilly is in the first walkway which is in Nelson NZ and it is such a beautiful project which I wanted to bring to Wellington. Thankfully Porirua City Council loved the idea and are backing me and helping me bring my vision to a reality

Use of funds

Funds raised will cover costs of materials needed to make the plaques and mosaics as well as the cost of creating them.

Thank you so much to everyone who has gotten behind my little project (my partner will laugh nervously at the little project reference!)

Each and every single one of your donations will help!

To give you a little idea of how much this project will cost; each of the plaques in the Stillborn Flower section costs $100 to buy.

I am still working out how much each of the Caterpillar and Butterfly section plaques/mosaics will cost.

To give you an idea of numbers;

I have currently filled 88 of the 114 spaces available in the Flower Section.

I have filled all 52 spaces and have 5 on the wait list for the Caterpillar section.

I have filled all 19 space and have 3 on the wait list for the Butterfly section.

I am so blown away by the amount of people who want their beloved child remembered <3

Each and every one of them is so very precious <3

No matter the length of their life, they are part of someones family.

When your child dies, people often think once you have been grieving that's the end, sadly that is not where the grief ends.

We also then grieve the milestones that have been taken away.

We no longer get to see them start school, get their drivers licence, get married, have children of their own....

All those precious milestones are gone too.

The idea behind this path is to give grieving parents and their family a place where they can remember their child with happiness.

They can see their child has helped create a beautiful piece of artwork that will be enjoyed by their siblings, their friends, their family.

It will also be enjoyed by people who do not know them, they will see beauty appear from something devastating.

I look forward to keeping you up to date with regular updates to progress in the walkway.

Love and warm hugs to you all <3

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
