Supporting a family with ongoing cost due to sudden loss of employment due to younger BvFTD, we weren't prepared for this as our journey.

Our Story
My husband, Kevin, is just 55 years old, just a few short months ago he was diagnosed with Behavioural Variant Frontotemporal Dementia (bvFTD) – a rare, young-onset dementia that affects personality, behaviour, and memory, and sadly with no cure it's a progressive life shortening illness
This illness has turned our world upside down. Kevin has always been the most loving and supportive husband, caring father of 7 amazing kids, Poppa to 9 beautiful grandkids and loyal friend. He’s the one who would always lend a hand, share a laugh, and bring warmth into the lives of those around him.To see dementia slowly change the man we love so dearly is heartbreaking.
Recently, Kevin lost his job due to the effects of this illness, and with that came the sudden loss of his independence and the sense of purpose he had in his work. He has also had his driver’s licence taken away for safety reasons, meaning more of the daily responsibilities now fall to me.
On top of the emotional toll, the financial side has been incredibly difficult. With little government support available and the shift to living on just one income while also caring for Kevin, things have become very tight and limited.
Any support, whether through a donation or simply by sharing our story, will make a meaningful difference. It will help ease the pressure so we can focus more on cherishing our time together and facing this journey with strength and love.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us. ❤️
Any support will help ease the financial strain of Kevin’s care — from travel to everyday living costs — allowing us to focus on navigating this journey with love and strength.
