Bye bye, boobies 👋 Ta ta, tatas 👋 New knockers needed!

  • Long time no post!

      4 November 2022

    Hello everyone,

It's been a while so I thought I would fire through an update :)

In 10 days I will be traveling to Hamilton to say Bye Bye Boobies and Tata Tatas!

I am super excited to take this next step in my journey.

I will be traveling to Hamilton on Sunday 13 November, meeting my mum up there and staying with my Aunty. Surgery is on Monday morning and I will stay in Hamilton that night. After a quick check-up on Tuesday Mum and I will be making the long drive home, with plenty of painkillers, a soft pillow (or 5), and some great tunes!

I have spent the last few months doubling down on fundraising efforts by selling boob pots. This has been a great way to generate some wider interest! You can check them out on Instagram @waipotted. If you see a ready-made pot you like, feel free to show me that you donated here and I can get you one. Custom orders are also open for a limited time!

Thank you to everyone who has donated and supported this journey, it means the world to me and I couldn't have come this far without you!

    New boobs incoming!

    Debbie

  • I'm booked!

      26 July 2022

Well, I'm booked. 14 November 2022. I am so excited, and relieved, and nervous. I cried from Hamilton to Tirau with all the emotion of being told it could be done and what this will mean for my quality of life and mental health.

I'm anxious about how on earth to save and raise the money over the next 3 months BUT everyone I have spoken to who has had a breast reduction says they wished they did it earlier. I'm not prepared to wait. I'm ready to do something for myself that will vastly improve my existence.

  • Surgery Consult

      26 July 2022

Today, I drove 6 hours from home to Hamilton to have my consult with Dr Winston McEwan. Wow. I am absolutely blown away.

Yes, it's going to be bloody expensive but 2 hours total in surgery, including anaesthesia, and a couple of nights in Hamilton, will change my life for ever.

I'm waiting to book in the date and wondering how on earth I will pay for this... the money raised so far is epic and we have been squirreling some savings of our own.

When I get home, fundraising will have to begin in earnest! I am so motivated to get that $8,800 so that I can change my life, be more active with my kids and get rid of this blimin' back pain!

Thank you to everyone who has supported so far, today wouldn't have been possible without you!

    Onwards and upwards!

  • Well, bugger.

      7 July 2022

Today I decided to follow up with the plastics department at Hutt Hospital, because breast reduction is "COSMETIC SURGERY", of course....

My bid to go through the public health system to say tata to these tatas has been rejected.

I knew it was a long shot, but it has me wondering what exactly one has to do to be approved?! Do my nipples have to drag along the ground when I do lunges?

Anyway, enough about that! Onwards and upwards (with my nipples perhaps?)

Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated so far! We have been trying to squirrel away some saving to match your kind input.

Fundraising is about to begin in earnest!

Feel free to let me know your best fundraising tips? A sausage sizzle? Raffle? Only Fans?

    Bye for now 👋

  • Paparazzi for my Mammary Glands

      23 May 2022

Today I went to my doctor and got papped, not the usual "tapping" one receives at the doctor, mind! Paparazzi! My hefty H's got their front and side profiles snapped by a lovely nurse armed with an iPad.

It wasn't the glitz and glam I was expecting, but I did stand behind a thin blue curtain and let my girls flop unceremoniously onto my abdomen in aid of a good cause.

My doctor is going to send aforementioned photos, along with a letter explaining just how horrific H's can be, to the Hutt Hospital plastics department.

I am crossing my fingers that the public system will come up with a life-saving move and let me get this done with funding. If this is the case, all money raised will first go to travel and any accommodation costs for my consults and surgery. Once that has been paid I will find someone else who needs a breast reduction who is fundraising and give them the chance to go through with it!

If public funding is a flop, like my tatas when I take my bra off at the end of the day, I have an appointment in Hamilton on 27 July with a private "cosmetic" surgeon.

Breast reduction is considered "cosmetic surgery". Crazy hey? Show me someone who has had a reduction purely for aesthetic purposes (not a lift, a reduction)! I'll wait ;)

  • 🤞🤞🤞

      11 April 2022

I have heard through one of the wonderful followers of this that there is a surgeon in Hamilton who believes reductions should be accessible! His pricing is $9,000 plus consult... I have emailed to ask if he would consider working with me and whether it would suit to come from the Wairarapa! 🤞

  • First step - Public funding?!?!

      9 April 2022

The first step is to try the publicly funded path.... there isn't a huge likelihood that this will be approved but I will provide updates as I go along ❤
