Help get Caleb to Mountain Bike World Champs!

Hi, I'm Caleb, a 17 yr old cross country mountain bike racer from Palmerston North. I have been riding for 5 years and racing competitively for the last 2 years. I love the challenge of racing and pushing myself to be the best that I can be. My determination and work ethic in training has seen me be selected for the New Zealand team going to World Champs.

Being selected for the National Performance Hub and now for World Champs have been personal highlights for me and have inspired me to continue improving myself as a mountain biker and racer. Racing at World Champs is the next step in my progression towards my ultimate goal of becoming a paid professional cross country mountain bike racer.

The recent New Zealand summer race season was a success, seeing me place 3rd at both North Island champs and Nationals, 7th at Oceania Continental Champs, and win our local Kahuterawa Challenge.

I am hard working, self-motivated and strive for excellence in all areas of my life - not only riding! I am a year 12 student at Palmerston North Boys High School and have retained my position in their accelerate programme for three consecutive years. My high standards are also shown in my presentation and I ensure that my bike and kit are always immaculate. I work part-time at Central Bicycle Studio, which has improved my time management, people skills and my knowledge of the bike industry.

Considering the immense cost of this trip, my family and I would greatly appreciate any financial assistance as it would give me the opportunity to compete at the World Championships, representing our country and proving what I am capable of as an athlete! I will wear the fern with pride!
