Waikato
Caleb is an adventurous 4 year old boy who loves the outdoors, bugs, camping and fishing. Caleb and his mum, dad and younger brother Izak live on a farm near Taupo and enjoy the farming lifestyle. Caleb attended Laughton Kindergarten in Taupo with all of his friends and enjoyed swinging on the rope swing and catching and studying bugs and insects.
Caleb started getting sore tummies and feeling sick off and on for quite some time. Then in the beginning of 2016 the pain started getting worse and so did the nausea. He had been to many doctors until Calebs mum took him to Taupo hospital where they transferred him to Rotorua hospital for some tests. On the 28th of May - (the day they were moving house) they headed up to starship hospital for more tests and found out on the 2nd June 2016 that Caleb had stage 4 Metastatic Neuroblastoma which is a rare cancer that effects children mostly under the age of 5 years old.
Since then Caleb and his family have been travelling between Starship Hospital, Rotorua Hospital and Home in Taupo. They have also had to shift farms while Caleb’s dad started a new job. Caleb is missing his little brother Izak who has had to stay with family while he undergoes treatment in Starship Hospital. This with having to leave his friends from Kindergarten without a goodbye has been tough on Caleb who is an amazing and social young man.
We are believing to raise funds to allow Caleb to have his family with him while he is away and to help cover the costs of travel and other expenses incurred during his treatment.
Caleb and his family are only just starting their journey and any financial support will be an absolute blessing and make a difference in Caleb and his families journey.
Grayson (4) met Caleb at Laughton Kindergarten and through their friendship our families have become great friends.
