Camp Raukawa Needs your Help
Whanganui, Manawatu-Wanganui
The River banks of Camp Raukawa are currently overrun with Wattyl, Willow and blackberry and grass. To remove this will be quite an undertaking, but will drastically improve the grounds of our camp,
Currently we're looking for $7,000 to remove the blackberry bushes and the grass. This is stage 1 of our project, which clears the way for stage 2: which will allow us to remove the willow and wattyl and replace these with native NZ trees like Manuka, Kowhai and Raukawa. Ultimately we want to turn this section of our camp grounds to become a pristine walking space amongst beautiful forest and gardens along the river bank.
But to get to this point, we need YOUR help! Projects like this, while seemingly simple, are not cheap. Time is of the essence, and we'd like to get the blackberry removed as soon as possible, so we can start planting in the early spring.
Anything you can give to this project will be extremely appreciated. It will help us continue to improve our Raukawa camp, so that it can continue to provide our community with outdoor experiences for generations to come!
