Funds for Pembrolizumab Immunotherapy so Blair can have a bit more time with his family
Canterbury
In February 2021 Blair (54) was diagnosed with an incurable form of aggressive kidney cancer. This diagnosis came completely out of the blue, as Blair was feeling fit and well and had been told it was only kidney stones.
Blair is father of 9-year-old Henry and husband to Natasha.
He has since completed the prescribed Chemo through the public health system, and now the only option available to give him more time by slowing the cancer is Pembrolizumab immunotherapy. This treatment is not funded in New Zealand and costs approximately $85,000.00 NZ dollars for the first round of treatments.
Getting this treatment could give him more precious time with his adored son Henry, wife Natasha and extended family and friends.
We are all very thankful that this option is available at St Georges Hospital in Christchurch, so he will not have to travel to get the treatment.
I am his little sister and the only thing that I can do to help him, is to ask you to help us. Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.
If you know Blair and have not caught up with him in a while, now is the time or maybe just say a prayer for him and his wee family.
I am his little sister
The money raised will be used to pay for Pembrolizumab immunotherapy treatment
Blair 14 March 2022
I write this message with a heavy heart.
Blair has lost his battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully at home with his beloved wife and son at his side on Saturday 12th March 2022.
Blair had hope right up to the end. He completed his second round of immunotherapy 4 days prior knowing the odds were not in his favour but determined to give himself every chance to beat this awful disease.
We are so very grateful for all of your help getting him his two rounds of immunotherapy along with your kind words of support. Blair was humbled and forever thankful of the selfless generosity bestowed on him by you his family and friends.
Love Rachel
