Help is required for Dads cancer treatment costing $70,000.00 for eight rounds of Keytruda.
Nelson / Tasman
We are trying to buy some more time with Dad and need your help.
As most of you know Dad has been undergoing treatment for Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma since 2008. Recently Dad's Melanoma has become Stage 4 Advanced Squamous Cell Carcinoma and he has been advised by the specialists that he has approximately 6-8 months to live as the cancer is growing at a rapid rate and surgery is not an option.
We have been advised by Dads oncologist of a drug called Pembrolizumab/Keytruda that should be able halt the cancer. Dad requires four rounds to start with, with an infusion once every three weeks, the problem is that Keytruda is not funded in NZ.
Unfortunately this drug that could stop the cancer rapidly spreading is $11,000.00 per round with a total of $70,000.00 over the course of the eight rounds that Dad needs. Dad has had his life insurance money released to pay for at least some of this treatment but unfortunately due to the drug not being funded here in New Zealand we still need more help.
Any and every little bit would really be appreciated and help.
