Raising funds for cancer awareness
Christchurch, Canterbury
27yr old Citycare Property Mower Operator Logan De Roo approached Angela Williams (DM) for some help a few weeks ago. Listening to him she was blown away by his initiative and kindness
Logan introduced Angela to a family friend of his, a lovey guy named Darrin. After a few minutes chatting, Darrin told them that he has two months to live. After experiencing stomach cramps in February, Darrin was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, his life has been turned upside down in the last few months, trying to spend the time he has left with his beautiful wife of 32 years and his two sons.
Their time included planning a funeral, choosing pictures, and visiting the crematorium, while helping his eldest son and partner move into their first home. Darrin and his wife are selling their home, to prepare for a future without Darrin.
The conversation was surreal and a sobering reality that many families go through when facing cancer.
Unbeknownst to Angela and Logan at the time, Darrin's son's partner also works for Citycare Property. Angela received a message from her manager, then a visit to her desk from Savanaha Da Silva, asking to help and be part of the fundraiser.
Darrin loves Logan's idea and wants attend the fundraiser.
Alongside Darrin's story, Logan has lost both his parents to cancer, his mum most recently, leaving an impact on his life. Logan wants to share his story to raise awareness & help others.
We would love to get everyone behind this cause so please share near and far!
