Larissa was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer and now has to receive medication (Osimertinib) that is not funded in NZ!
Auckland
Life has dealt an unlucky blow to our lovely Larissa who has never touched a cigarette in her life, but just before Christmas day, on 22 December 2019, she was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. In addition, the cancer moved from the primary (lungs) into her bones, namely her neck, back and hips. She was told there was no cure and was given maybe 6 to 8 months to live! It is now February 2022 and Larissa has battled hard to beat the odds! She has gone through multiple rounds of chemo and radiation, however, the cancer has been relentless and new growth keeps popping up in different places.
She is currently waiting for the latest round of radiation to kick in on her left hip, but has recently been informed of another new growth! She now needs to move on to medication (Osimertinib) which unfortunately is not funded in NZ and is very expensive.
For the lucky ones who know Larissa, she is a warm, vibrant, loving person, a devoted mother to 3 teenagers and sweetheart to her most stalwart supporter Ricky. She has selflessly given of herself to her family and community, without expectation of anything in return - hence my purpose of reaching out to give back to an individual who would never ask for anything, or expect anything, but has always given everything and anything she could to everyone else!
Please support Larissa in her cancer journey so that she knows she is not alone and to ease the financial burden upon her and her family to fund the medication she now needs to keep surviving. I appreciate your time to read this and thank you from the bottom of my heart for every little bit of support you can give!

A Message from Larissa 4 May 2022
Hi everyone - I just needed to say how grateful I am to those that have supported this page through donations and those who have contacted me personally as it has enabled the purchase of the drug I now need to be on. Thank you to Viola for setting up this page and wanting to show how much a friend’s love is unconditional. It’s been a scary journey for me and my family but always staying positive and up beat is how I know we will get through this, until we don’t. My love to you all and especially my Heavenly Father for the strength to keep going every day and for this super drug that has given me even more precious time…. Much appreciation…Larissa
