Cancer Battle - Larissa's fight for Life

  • A Message from Larissa

      4 May 2022

Hi everyone - I just needed to say how grateful I am to those that have supported this page through donations and those who have contacted me personally as it has enabled the purchase of the drug I now need to be on. Thank you to Viola for setting up this page and wanting to show how much a friend’s love is unconditional. It’s been a scary journey for me and my family but always staying positive and up beat is how I know we will get through this, until we don’t. My love to you all and especially my Heavenly Father for the strength to keep going every day and for this super drug that has given me even more precious time…. Much appreciation…Larissa

  • Great news!

      21 April 2022

Great news – the Osimertinib medication is having a very positive effect on Larissa – so thank you so much for all your support! A big thank you goes out to the Christchurch family who donated a 1 month supply of Osimertinib tablets to Larissa. We are sorry for the loss of your mother. Thank you for reaching out through Givealittle to donate the tablets to Larissa. She has seen some shrinkage in the lung and bone growth – so here’s hoping that things continue to be positive!

      20 March 2022

Thank you for all your big-heartedness and continued support for Larissa! She has not been able to have face-to-face appointments (only phone appointments) with her doctor, or her bone infusion and ECG, which is disappointing. However, the great news is she has started on the Osimertinib and her body is adjusting to the changes which is good, and not so good – but she is feeling positive about the outcomes! She reports that her radiation doctor believes the new pain meds has improved her pain tolerance as she is not in so much pain which is also good progress. Larissa hopes things continue to get better and that the dizzy bouts she is experiencing will also disappear! Once again thanks for all your generosity and support!

  • Thank you!

      25 February 2022

Thank you all for your warm generosity and donations! I have just spoken with Larissa and she sincerely appreciates all your love and support - so thank you! Unfortunately, additional growth has been found on Larissa's right leg, hip and more clusters of new growth discovered on her lung. She has not been able to receive her last chemo treatment as two of her family members are down with the Covid-19 virus and are in isolation! This has delayed the process to receive Osimertinib, but hopefully her family members will recover quickly and treatment can continue for Larissa! She remains positive and hopeful despite the setbacks so let’s keep supporting and cheering her on!
