  • New bed brought for Jess February

      22 June 2020

Hi guys, an update of funds spent so far. Jason purchased a bed that Jess really needed due to the other bed having springs coming through making her sleep more uncomfortable than it already is. Also the funds that were received paid for medical needs for Jess. Thank you this would not had happened if it wasn't because of your generosity ! Since early this year, sadly we fund for Jess's last wish as her time on earth has come to a much quicker ending with only 6 months approximately to live.

  • Cancer spread now please help while we save to get Jess to swim with dolphins !

      19 June 2020

    Hi everyone, bad news 😢

Jessica's cancer has spread to her stomach and now has been given approximately 6 months to live. Chemotherapy is not a option this time. We are all devastated.

We are asking for help to raise funds to get Jess to Bay of Plenty to swim with Dolphins as this is Jessicas dream Jason will need to take leave as much as he can financially manage to spend time with his wife Jessica. He took all his leave over Covid-19 as Jess was at huge risk so could not work. We are working on what if anything can be done about this. But in the mean time I want Jason to have some money aside as a plan B!. Your help would be very much appreciated.

    Thank you

you haven't updated in months, how is Jess doing?

  • Sad news update today 16th January

      16 January 2020

Jess has seen the oncoligist yesterday late afternoon and he has told her she has low grade ovarian cancer that is aggressive and can not be treated with chemotherapy and radiation. This cancer has stemed from the removal of Jessica's ovaries in 2008. The cells were still there floating which has developed into a tumor (over the years Dr's believe). This subsequently has grown into a tumor which blocked the bowel. With the operation of removal of tumor and now having a stoma bag permanently she is reccovering and adjusting to this. Only 3% of cancers in the world are low grade cancers like this. Jessica maybe able to discover treatment overseas that can't be funded here in NZ if the hormone treatment that she will be taking each day stops working. The hormone treatment may put the cancer into remission but will never get rid of it. She will be taking each day as it comes. Jason is devastated that this time chemotherapy isn't a option. He feels like this is another bad dream. Once again Ovarian cancer has tragically messed with our family. Ovarian cancer is a silent killer very often can't be picked up easily on CT scans. When more understanding of this update comes more known to me I will update.

  • Second update

      15 January 2020

New year started rough with Drs at one point unsure if she would be able to get chemotherapy. Jess is slowly healing from the operation to get ready for chemotherapy, now at home. She's trying to get use to the stoma bag and coming to terms with it. Trying to get pain under control.

  • Christmas day update

    Main image

Hi everyone, this photo was taken on Christmas day in ICU. Jess managed to eat a little food on Christmas day, which was good! This is her favorite day of the year. Always decorates the house with Christmas arrangements. Thankfully the hospital staff were accommodating and lifted a few rules. Jess is in the ward now. An update will follow soon.
