Fundraiser to help Frances/Mum afford the cancer treatment she needs.
Cambridge, Waikato
In October '25, our mum Frances was diagnosed with grade 3, stage 2b HER2+ & ER+ breast cancer. It's a fast growing type that in her case needs 6 rounds of chemo (18 weeks approx). Although some lymph nodes have tested positive, it hasn't spread yet to other parts of the body, which is why one of the very effective treatment drugs is not funded - Pertuzumab. We are seeking donations to help cover the cost of this.
Mum has already started her treatment, using the small amount of life savings that she has, as the oncologist said she needed to start ASAP. When she's done with chemo, she will then need surgery, and after that she will need radiation.
It's a heck of a lot for her and her body to go through in a year, and to help her body cope with all of this treatment she also needs to make sure she has the right nutritional intake, alongside ongoing treatment and management of lymphedema after the surgery.
As we all know, the pension does not cover much these days, and we would love for her to have some savings left to live off now & when all this is over; we are unsure if she'll be able to return to work.
Absolutely any amount of contribution will be so gratefully received. If you are unable to contribute financially, sharing this page around will also be extremely helpful.
Thank you so much from myself, my sisters and our beautiful Mama Frances.
I'm Frances' daughter.
