Kristina has endured more than most in their whole lifetime and she's only 32-years-old.... Read on to learn about her turmoil and fight.
Canterbury
Kristina Belcher is a 32year old with a 4-year-old daughter Bella.
Kristina was blessed to be born with a friend for life in her identical twin sister Nikola. They were inseparable and shared everything together. When Nikola was not by Kristina’s side, it was as if a part of her was missing.
The twins grew up having a wonderful childhood. In their teenage years, Nikola aged 17year, met Tim, who later became her Husband.
Prior to Nikola and Tim’s wedding, Tim was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Everyone was devastated. Tim endured endless amounts of chemotherapy, countless surgeries and radiation.
Times were tough and it was extremely hard for Kristina to see her twin Nikola, an extension of herself hurting so much.
Amongst these dark times, a little miracle happened. Nikola and Tim found out they were expecting a baby boy named Shaeden.
Nikola and Tim tied the knot when Shaeden was 2years old. Shortly after, Tim lost his battle with cancer and passed away.
Nikola struggled and fell into a deep depression and grief at her loss, unfortunately, she too passed away.
Shortly after Kristina lost her twin Nikola and brother-in-law Tim; she also lost a very close friend Vanessa to murder.
In early 2014, Kristina visited the GP, as she was worried about a large firmness in her left breast. The GP requested an ultrasound “just in case” and Kristina did not really think much of it. The results came back, and the ultrasound did not look good. Kristina then proceeded to get a mammogram and biopsy done.
A week or so later, Kristina was called back into the GP’s office and the news was devastating. Kristina found out she had aggressive breast cancer at the young at of 32years! Everything happened so fast she did not even have time to think about what was happening and how her life was going to change.
It was not until Kristina was being spoken to about having chemotherapy that she lost it and fell to pieces. Realising that she would lose her luscious long hair that she loved and her breast.
Kristina eventually came to terms with her diagnosis and with the help of her friend Lynley, shaved her head. All her family were there to support her. Kristina has now become accustomed to wearing wigs.
She has endured 6months of chemotherapy, surgery in December 2014 to remove her left breast and has undergone 21days of radiation, with 4 more to go.
Kristina will be under the knife again at the end of
2015, start of 2016 to reduce her right breast and reconstruct her left breast.
Due to the medication, sickness, tiredness, stress and everything else Kristina has to deal with going through this, she is unable to work.
Donation money will be going towards a new wig and a holiday for after her treatment and breast reconstruction.
Therefore, if you can find it in your hearts and wallets to “give a little” to this cause to help this brave, strong and positive young woman to make her life a little easier, it would be greatly appreciated.
After everything Kristina has been through in her short 32years, she still manages to smile, laugh and make the most of everything.
