"NICHOLAS BIRD RUNS THE GREAT NORTH WEST HALF MARATHON ENGLAND FOR THE CANTERBURY EARTHQUAKES CHILDREN'S TRUST February 22 2015
Nationwide
Exactly 4 years after the fatal Christchurch Earthquake of 2011, Nick Bird will be running The Great North West Run in honour of all those who lost their lives.
The lives of many were affected on the 22 February 2011 but for the 66 Children who lost a parent that day life would never be the same. Christchurch would eventually rebuild but for these children the pain would never go away.
Nick, who is half English, half Kiwi is an uninjured survivor of the Earthquake and has decided to dedicate this run on February 22nd 2015 to all those Children who lost a parent on that horrific day.
For this reason he is running proudly on behalf of THE CANTERBURY EARTHQUAKE CHILDREN'S TRUST.
In order to do this Nick has worked hard and lost over 5 stone in weight. Please donate generously for this very special cause ....."
The Trust was setup to make a difference in these children's lives.
Families can apply to the trust to assist around areas of education and hardship. The trust has been able to help several of the children and will continue to do so until they reach 20 years of age.
