I love to capture photographs community events and share these freely or cheaply. I wish to upgrade my camera and lens.
Dunedin, Otago
I started taking photos at community events when I was 16. I love to capture the activities that result from the contributions of volunteers and the training efforts of the participants. I like to share these photos on community group facebook pages. If I ever charge for photos I keep the cost low. I am raising funds for a better camera that will give better colour saturation and have a faster auto focus so that I can take crisper photos of high speed action. It is a challenge for a lens to focus on a horse galloping towards it! I have primarily photographed music events such as pipebands and community orchestras and equine related activities. I attribute my inspiration for photography from my grandfather who built a dark room in his attic and taught my father photography. My father then went on to teach me and also to set up a high school photography course.
Purchase of a DSLR camera body and an IS (image stabilisation) USM (ultrasonic motor for focusing) telephoto lens, camera bag, optional photo editing software or photography education.
