My Grandma and Grandad are driving an unsafe car. I am gifting my reliable car to them but it is due a cam belt change that I cannot afford.
Northland
I have not fund raised before so please bear with me.
My grandparents live on Great Barrier Island. I live in Northland. I visited them last week; the first visit in over 1 year due to my health I am no longer able to work. I realized their car is unsafe and difficult to drive. It is rusted through and slips out of gear while driving, has loud rattling and is breaking. I am gifting my car to my grandparents as I have no money to buy them a car. It is reliable, tidy and will last for many years. Unfortunately after paying for four new tyres, to ensure my grandparents have no expense for a while, a mechanical check shows a cam belt is also needed. I cannot afford this, nor the cost of the car on the ferry to Great Barrier. There are no reliable cars that suit their needs for sale on the Island and they have no savings. I am hoping donations will help with the cost so they can drive safely.
I am involved because I love them and I am afraid of their car causing an accident. I want to give them my car because they will know it is safe and because I can't think of any other way to replace their car. I have Narcolepsy, so I cannot work to raise money.
To pay for the cam belt replacement and the cost to transport the car to my grandparents on Great Barrier Island. Receipts can be proven if the funds are raised.
