Please help my mum Maree raise enough for a car after thieves stole her pride and joy outside her pension flat.
Auckland
Maree Shortland is my 73 year old mum. She would give her last cent to anyone. She would help anyone in need. my mum sacrifices a lot on a day to day basis. But on Saturday 5th December 2015 mum came home to her pension flat after a long day including attending my daughters 5th birthday. She parked her Nissan pulsar in her carport right outside her bedroom window. She went to bed about 11pm. After waking and discovering her car was gone, Mum went around to ask the other pensioners if anyone saw or heard anything but no one did. Unfortunately we found her door lock popped out on the ground which leads to being stolen by someone. She's filed a police report but no luck so far..
No it wasn't insured and yes it was an old runner but she goes out of her way to drive other pensioners in the same complex to do there shopping or doctor and hospital appointments. She does this out of the kindness of her heart and now she has no car things will be a bit harder.
I am Maree's son James and all my life my mum has always put herself before anyone. She taught me to treat others the way you would like to be treated and to respect everyone and their belongings. When mums car was taken she tried to find the positive in the situation. She doesn't know about this fundraiser and wouldn't want anyone to fuss over whats happened but I know she deserves something nice.
