Friends and Family of Cara and Cameron Hughes know they would do anything for others. Its now our turn to help them out.
Auckland
I have set this page up for my friends Cara and Cameron.
They are a hard working South Auckland couple who are always helping others. They have fostered 18 children in their home, sometimes up to 6 or 7 at once. They were honoured with an Excellence in Fostering Award in 2014 and were presented this in Wellington by the Governor General.
One of their other challenges has been overcoming Infertility and they have battled fertility treatments to finally get pregnant late 2014.
Unfortunately Cara has been diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum and has been unable to work due to the extreme vomiting. She has even been hospitalized at times. This has meant they have had to use their savings for Baby just to pay household bills and their is no sick pay as a Reliever Teacher. They have explored Winz support and this is unavailable to them due to being a married couple with Cam still working.
They are a very humble and proud couple and I know the financial stress they are under is not allowing them to enjoy this special time. The money we raise can allow Cara and Cam to purchase things for the baby and to have some financial pressure eased so they are able to enjoy the miracle baby due in August.
I am involved because I have supported these two on their fertility journey and have been helped many times by the generous nature of the Hughes.
