Carbon Offset NZ - Kick starter campaign

$303 donated
Given by 3 generous donors in around 3 months

Raise funds to cover the start up costs of Carbon Offset Charitable Trust. Offsetting will fund directly the planting native trees.

Nationwide

Carbon Offset will be a Charitable Trust that will give people the opportunity to calculate their carbon footprint and offset it by donating to the Trust. The donations will go directly to plant native trees on public & private land. On average people generate around 11 tons of Carbon net per annum but it varies wildly depending on your lifestyle and your ability to offset. The price of carbon in NZ is NZD23/ton. The UN recommended price is USD40/ton or NZD60/ton. If only 1% of the population of NZ get behind this at the NZ price of carbon it would raise over $12.6M pa. 10% NZD126M.

This campaign will fund the establishment of the Carbon Offset Trust including, legal costs for formation of the Trust Deed, Website & logo design, contribute to the continued refinement of an existing Carbon Footprint Calculator and a nationwide marketing campaign to raise awareness to start donations flowing.

Use of funds

Legal costs to form Trust deed, Website & logo design, refinement of Carbon Calculator & a marketing campaign to raise awareness.
