Carla Neems Inquest - Family Council

  • Coroners Findings

      31 July 2019

Just an update - the coroner’s recommendation that Waste Management trucks will be fitted with warning alarms to ensure drivers are aware of anyone who might enter a noted blind spot is a great win. Thank you all for your support - it has helped make a change and our communities and children will be safer because of it.

“As a family we are relieved that after perseverance and appointing legal counsel we now have a coroner’s recommendation that Waste Management must follow up on to keep our communities safe.

“We see this a great win after a huge financial and emotional investment, and one that would not have been necessary had WorkSafeNZ done their job completely.

The family wished “to acknowledge our supporters”.

“To them we say thank you for standing beside our family.”
