Kevin and Carol's dream tandem scooter

Hamilton, Waikato

Hi, my husband has a brain injury, a fused hip and one good eye. With his eye condition, he has no peripheral vision. We both need our own scooter, but with my husband's eye condition he can't drive one. We need a tandem scooter, so I can drive us both around. We have no garage, just a small shed for the scooter. A friend of our gave us one. It is a very old scooter and is continuing to have problems. I have replaced all the tyres, had both front wheels welded to the hubs. Other things are going wrong with it, that we are unable to pay for, for various reasons.

Use of funds

The scooter and any accessories it need. If I do not raise enough for the scooter, I will use the funds to pay bills and make our garden accessible for my husband.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
