Carols fight for life against cancer

I’m sure we can all relate to this story in 1 way or another, most of us have had or know someone in our lives that have won and lost battles to this big ugly C word (cancer) this is a story of my aunty who is now going through her own battle and is determined to win the fight.

8 years ago my beautiful aunty carol was concerned as she noticed blood in her urine, she went to the dr several times for this issue only to finally be told that bleeding from the kidney just happens to some people, as the years went on her symptoms persisted as well as now having fatigue and back pain, so she went back to the dr 8 weeks ago and was sent off for a scan only to find that she had cancer in several locations and it had metastasised, she was diagnosed with stage 4 urothelial cancer, had the DR done a thorough examination prior, the cancer could have been caught in time before metastasising (spread).

Enfortumab vedotin medication works for this level of spread but at a cost of $30,000 a month

Carol lives alone with her 2 dogs and is a ECE teacher who is very passionate about her role in nurturing and teaching our young tamariki in their most important years of brain development and growth, she is always giving all she has which she has unfortunately had to stop.
