Carpet required for my Sons room (our lounge as well if possible) to settle his allergies.
Bay of Plenty
We have a gorgeous son Travis 5yrs old, who is an asthma, eczema and allergies child.
and unfortunately our house has really old carpet that is causing him a lot of grief, the carpets at least 20 years old and seems to constantly release fibres, if you roll on the carpet you get covered in them, I am going through heaps of vacuum bags as I am trying to vacuum regularly to minimise the effect on Trav but it doesn't seem to help a lot. Travis has a hay fever type reaction, a lot of sneezing, coughing and puffy eyes, he also has had more asthma since we've lived here than ever before.
We would really like to replace at least the carpet in his room and in the lounge, places where he plays on the floor, but we put all our money into buying the house and repairing the roof, we would really appreciate any help so we can get this sorted as soon as possible.
Most of his allergies are pretty manageable now, his food allergies(nuts, dairy, egg, sulphur) and dog allergy, and usually his hay fever is manageable but its been constant since living we moved in in march. We cleaned the carpets with a rug doctor and the rest of the house for dust deliberately for Travis when we moved in. But feel were not going to get rid of this problem unless we replace the carpet.
Any help you can give would be soooo amazing and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your help and kindness

to replace the carpet in Travis's bedroom and if possible the lounge as well
Rugs and Polyurethane 20 July 2017
So after talking to some people I have been told it would be much more allergy friendly for Trav to have hard wood floors and rugs, instead of carpet. As this is much easier to keep clean and dust free. BONUS to this is weve looked into the cost and its also much cheaper, were going to polyurethane the existing flooring and buy a couple rugs one for travs room and one for the lounge (play areas) at a cost estimated to be $1000, so I am very excited as this seems so much more possible and would like to thank all you wonderful doners for giving us a great start.
