Casts 4 Kids in 2010 helped raise $18,500 for Planet Sunshine at the Gisborne Hospital, in 2013 we're hoping to raise money for the Materni
Nationwide
The Maternity Ward at the Gisborne Hospital is in desperate need of new beds.
At the moment they have 4 birthing beds & those are 23 years old, if the beds break, they can't be fixed and will need to be dumped, so lets help them raise money to get a new Birthing Bed for Tairawhiti Mums to Be
Day 6 of Casts 4 Kids 2 29 May 2013
Day 6 has arrived, and I find the cast actually feels quite normal now... it's going to be weird not having it on anymore (but don't get me wrong... I can't wait to get this cast off!) First of all, a huge thank you to Frankie from Tyre General Gisborne, she donated a huge bottle of coins for the cause, and when we counted them all up... there was over $300!!!! We also had a great street collection in the Gisborne CBD yesterday. Thanks to our cast army that could make it! Town was very quiet, but we got some very positive feedback about the cause... I was walking along with Trent and Karen and all of a sudden a car pulled in front of us, and a young lady rushed out to give us coins saying she heard it on the radio and wanted to donate... So thank you mystery car lady. David collected oustide Countdown in the freezing cold, and from what I hear did quite well, and Manu and Meredith hit up Kaiti Mall... so there was really no escaping us. We had an article and picture in the Gisborne Herald last night, so hopefully more people will be aware of why we're doing this. Our Cast Army have been incredible! If you are reading this, You are an absolute star!!! But also credit needs to go to The Gisborne Community. I don't know how many other communities are as generous as ours, and hopefully together we can all raise a lot of money for the Maternity Unit. Just a reminder that 100% of everything raised is going towards getting this new Birthing Bed! And if you can't donate on here, then there are ways you can donate in Gisborne. If you see one of our Cast Army you can donate to them, there is a collection tin with one of our castys at The Cosmopolitan Club, and tonight Gail will be collecting at The Fishing Club. Come on Team! 2 Days to go, let's get that new bed for the Maternity Unit!!! Take Care Alisha, MORE FM Gisborne
