Help someone achieve their goal

Your chance to donate a small amount to someone who is motivated to better her, and her son's, life.

Nationwide

I'm putting this up here on behalf of my friend. She doesn't know I'm doing this - she is a very proud person and I'm hoping to just surprise her with the results.

She is a single Mum with a wonderful little 3 year old boy. Rather than live on the benefit she is out there working 30 hours a week as a marketing assistant in the retail sector. She isn't paid moonbeams and works Saturdays as well. She has to pay for her son to be taken care of each Saturday and every week is a balancing act financially.

Her family and friends have helped as much as we can as we all see someone who isn't sitting there and relying on the welfare state. Instead she works hard in her job and at home, has brought up the most amazing happy little boy, and has given him every opportunity she can at a large sacrifice to herself.

She has recently taken on the challenge of doing a triathlon early in the new year. This page is to try to raise enough money to get her a road cycle to train and compete with. Its completely out of her reach with her own financial situation. A few of us have donated already to get her safety gear and contribute to the cost of the bike. We were hoping that there are still a few generous kiwi's out there who believe in people who fight hard to better themselves.

I know there are many people like her out there, and you can't help everyone. I'm asking if you can perhaps donate the price of one beer or glass of wine - if enough people donate $10 we can make a very big difference to someone who has set herself a goal to ensure she has something positive to focus on.

Please help us help her.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you've got this far, you have a good heart.

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
