CBBR - The shelter a community built, needs to re-build.

Christchurch Bull Breed Rescue has been running for more than 15 years taking dogs from all over NZ. When we took on the lease of our shelter 11 years ago, it was an empty concrete yard with a garage & an office. People would donate 1 or 2 fence panels, kennels, sleepouts & we built a pretty awesome shelter, where the runs don’t feel like cages & dogs can decompress, lap up some love & learn to be dogs again.

Unfortunately, the property we lease has now been sold & we are currently on the hunt for a new premises. We are looking at moving costs plus fit out costs for a new premises.

And because punches come in bunches, we have also recently had our van damaged by vandalism, had our replacement runabout car stolen and lost thousands of dollars worth of food to rats & mice!

We have always called CBBR the shelter that a community built because it’s all our followers & supporters that have allowed us to continue to help dogs in need. What keeps us running is all the $2, $5 automatic payments people have set up, the local businesses with donation boxes & running fundraisers, people donating food for our foodbank, kids doing bake sales, volunteers doing markets. The CBBR community is amazing!

We need your help again to pack everything up, move it somewhere new and re-build CBBR even better than it is now.
