  • Next CCTV Camera and Signage

      3 December 2016

We are very pleased to let everyone know the CCTV camera at Parua Bay Village has been upgraded to the latest in CCTV technology (within our budget) and that we are currently working on the next install along Whangarei Heads Road. We have also had 6 CCTV warning signs put up with the generous help from NorthPower. It is a legal requirement to have signage when installing CCTV cameras.

Our Givealittle page has been extended to the end of January in the hope we will be able to reach our target funding for all 3 cameras. Current funding has only allowed us to purchase 2 cameras on behalf of the Whangarei Heads Community.

Thank you for your continued support and please don't forget to share the page with your local friends and family.

  • A last push to reach the target!

      2 September 2016

As a community we need to act when it comes to fighting the increasing level of crime that is happening in our area.

The Whangarei Heads community has now successfully raised $7,100 via this Givealittle page from 91 generous donations from both individuals and businesses but we are still $4,400 short of our target.

With over 2000 residents in the area we are hoping it won’t take long to reach this goal.

We have already had the first camera installed in the Parua Bay Village and are looking to add another two in key places. We also need additional CCTV signage as a deterrent throughout the peninsula.

This initiative involves our entire community and is being coordinated by the Discover Whangarei Heads Tourism Group.

Please share this info and Givealittle page with your local friends so we can reach our target asap.

We encourage you to support it. Thank you so much.
