As Vietnamese students in NZ, we call for donations to help flood victims in Central Vietnam.
International
Together with Vietnamese students in New Zealand, we are having an emergency case of fundraising to help flood victims in Central Vietnam.
Since the last 15 days, with back-to-back floods, torrential rains and severe landslides caused by massive hurricanes, the bad news keeps coming to us with more than 105 deaths, 27 missing in ten provinces over Central and Central Highland Vietnam. The loss of property and livelihoods are uncountable, especially in three provinces: Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, in which more than 166,780 households have been flooded, leading to the loss of 5,900 cattle and pigs, and 685,000 poultries, 7,930 ha of crops loss (reported in local news). In such an agricultural country like Vietnam, facing not only the crisis of losing family members but also the most valuable assets would remain a severe burden for many poor small farmers long after the flood effects.
We are kindly asking for your support to help flood victims coping with this loss and getting back on their feet again.
* ONE dollar from you can buy TWO meals for the victims.
** TWO thousand dollars can help to build ONE floating house for an unfortunate family.
