Being part of a positive force for disadvantaged children in Africa

Manawatu / Whanganui

The aim of ChallengeAid is to take children out of poverty through education in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya and Arusha, Tanzania. ChallengeAid allows many children who are unable to attend school during the day to be able to continue their studies at night through their "Schools of Hope" programme.

ChallengeAid provides the structure and resources to communities and existing schools that are able to run the Schools of Hope, from sanitary pads and textbooks to desks and rugby balls. In June of this year, I witnessed first hand the impact ChallengeAid has on underprivileged children in Africa. I can proudly say it was one of the most sobering but humbling experiences I had in Kenya. The opportunity that ChallengeAid and the SoH are giving kids is life changing and was so special to see first hand, which is why after returning to New Zealand I wanted to contribute to this worthy cause.

Myself, along with a few friends who are equally as eager to support, aim to take part in events or 'challenges' all over the North island to raise funds for ChallengeAid so they can continue to give aspirational young children the opportunity to succeed; our first event being the Marton 'mudder' on the 15th of September.

Hunter Aiken's involvement (page creator)

I am one of ChallengeAid's ambassadors, the first ever to be based here in New Zealand. My goal is to raise awareness of the work ChallengeAid does and inspire others to get fit for a purpose.

Use of funds

ALL funds raised will go towards supporting ChallengeAid's African Schools of Hope. One of ChallenegAid's USP's is that NONE of the monies raised are used for administration purposes.
