Join us on an adventure to support, inspire and enable Kapiti youth to believe in themselves

Wellington

Two Members of Kapiti Rotary (Stu Ayres & Vic Hewson), both over the age of 65, are riding Tour Aotearoa to raise funds and inspire Youth in Kapiti. This is a ride of 3000 kms from Cape Reinga to Bluff in under 30 days where they are required to be completely self sufficient carrying on their bikes everything they need to survive.

They are doing this to demonstrate and inspire.others -especially youth-that it is possible to challenge ourselves to do new, scary things. That attitude is an important part of being who we can be and not settling for who we think we are.

The money raised will be used to support Youth on the Kapiti Coast to attend programmes such as Outward Bound and the Spirit of Adventure. Programmes like these have a compelling history of helping young people understand their potential and develop the motivation and resilience to be the best they can be for themselves and others.

About us

Rotary is about Service Above Self. We raise funds and run programmes to help the community - particularly Youth on the Kapiti Coast.

Vic & Stu are Kapiti Rotarians and through the charity are raising funds by participating in the Tour Aotearoa to to discover new limits in themselves and to challenge and support Kapiti Youth to strive toward their potential

Use of funds

The money will be used to support Kapiti Youth to attend Outward Bound, The Spirit of Adventure or similar pursuits that help youth reach their potential.
