Hello lovely Kevin people, here's the latest on our boy :)

He's doing so well and is showing us what a lovely puppy he really is, always cheerful, takes his vet visits like a champ and loves everyone! If ever a puppy deserved a whole lot of people to rally round and help then it's him.

As far as we know, the leg is still healing just the way it should, he had a cast change recently and our vet seemed happy with the way things are going. We'll know a lot more when he has his next x-ray on Friday. The cast on his leg isn't bothering him at all and he's having a great time with his foster siblings, two other dogs and a cat.

One thing though, we think he must have found some magic beans somewhere in his foster mum's garden as he's suddenly grown! Look at the size of him in these pics! Lol we will need a crane for the next photoshoot.

Anyway, bye from us and Kev and thank you all ever so much xx

PS Yes, his foster dad is the guy from Shortland St!

  • Kevin update!

We have some really good news :)

Kevin went in for surgery this morning and our vets took some pre-op x-rays which showed that surgery is probably not needed! The bones have aligned and are starting to heal with some good new growth, this is thanks to the amazing job Vet Ent Te Kuiti did with splinting Kev's leg. Our vet thought Kevin would get a better outcome letting the bones heal this way. Over the moon that he doesn't have to go through that surgery! So, there will be more x-rays in two weeks time, to see how things are going and regular checks and cast changes over the next few weeks. We are just waiting for invoices to see where we are at financially but it is obviously going to be cheaper than we thought, so we intend to use any extra money from Kevin's GAL to give him whatever extra treatment he needs to ensure his leg heals as well as it possibly can and our vets are putting together recommendations for us.

Thanks so much to everyone who rallied round for Kevin; to everyone who chipped in for him here, to the amazing team at Vet Ent Te Kuiti, his fab foster mum in Te Kuiti Jessie, and the wonderful crew at Vets North Kumeu and is lovely foster family in Auckland Jenn and James. Here he is with his ducky x
