Please help us to give Kevin the puppy the surgery he needs to save his leg and change his life around!
Auckland
Kevin was left abandoned under a bridge at twelve weeks old.
He was found whimpering from wounds to his head and body and unable to walk. He was later found to have a badly broken leg.
How that happened to him we don't know, but what we do know is that from now on his life is going to be a heck of a lot different. We are so sorry that your life started so badly Kev and we are going to do everything to change the world around for you, starting with your broken leg.
Kev is booked in at our vets for a leg operation ASAP, the break is bad and needs a special op that will allow the bones to grow properly, as he's still such a baby. We have been given amazing support from our vets in Auckland and Te Kuiti but we do need all the help we can get to pay for his treatment.
Please help us to show Kevin that the world isn't such a bad place!
Thanks so much to everyone who has donated so far, we are blown away and so thankful xx
If we exceed our goal, the money will be put towards Kevin's ongoing recovery. We are not entirely sure, until he is in surgery, if this first op will be all he needs. If he needs no more surgery after this then we will put any extra money towards our next dog needing veterinary care. Thank you once again lovely people!
We rescue rehomeable dogs, primarily from council pounds, who would otherwise face euthanasia. We are volunteers and all donations go directly towards helping these dogs.

Kevin and the magic beans 24 April 2022
Hello lovely Kevin people, here's the latest on our boy :)
He's doing so well and is showing us what a lovely puppy he really is, always cheerful, takes his vet visits like a champ and loves everyone! If ever a puppy deserved a whole lot of people to rally round and help then it's him.
As far as we know, the leg is still healing just the way it should, he had a cast change recently and our vet seemed happy with the way things are going. We'll know a lot more when he has his next x-ray on Friday. The cast on his leg isn't bothering him at all and he's having a great time with his foster siblings, two other dogs and a cat.
One thing though, we think he must have found some magic beans somewhere in his foster mum's garden as he's suddenly grown! Look at the size of him in these pics! Lol we will need a crane for the next photoshoot.
Anyway, bye from us and Kev and thank you all ever so much xx
PS Yes, his foster dad is the guy from Shortland St!
