Hi! I'm fulfilling a long term dream of mine to volunteer teach in Africa @The Joshua Foundation School for impoverished in Arusha/Tanzania
Otago
I will be volunteering, living & helping at En Gedi site for 3 weeks from 31st December till the 20th of January. I will be using my training, experience & education to help wherever I can. I am a trained primary teacher & have worked with children & youth for over 13years. I'm a volunteer extraidionaire here & want to have a go at doing similar over there. The children who attend the Joshua School are brought in from where they live in poverty & given education that opens up opportunities they wouldn't otherwise have. The Joshua School runs solely on donations. I believe in the global community & making a positive difference in the lives of the individuals you encounter with your own individual gifts.
I chose to volunteer at The Joshua Foundation school because I wanted to partner & give some relief support to a cause that was already doing well in the area of Education in Africa. Because for as long as I can remember I've wanted to visit Africa & work with children & youth there as I do here in New Zealand. As part of my trip I will also be a part of the outreach team who go out into the community, pray for people & believe God will give them miracles. If you want to hear more about this aspect of the trip you can find regular updates on the "Passion for Africa" Facebook page. There are also pages for "The Joshua School" & "The Joshua Foundation"
