Charla has a rare cancer called Exon 20 and her best treatment option, Osimertinib, is not funded in New Zealand.
Christchurch, Canterbury
Charla has spent her life nurturing everyone around her with her warmth, generosity, and infectious zest for life. She is a giver, as a partner, mother and Nurse. She takes on challenges for others. She Nurses and advocates for people in forensic intellectual disability services with a passion and energy that is rare to find, especially in such a difficult field.
Charla needs our help battling a rare small cell lung cancer called Exon 20. Her most promising treatment option, Osimertinib, is available in New Zealand through Pharmac but is not funded. The treatment costs $175,000.
Charla is prepared to battle this cancer with all her might. If the target is not reached within the required window of time, the funds raised will be used by Charla as she wishes.
Please join her team of loving supporters. This is especially a call out to fellow Nurses and Allied Health; this lady is one of the most selfless people in our sector, and she deserves our generosity. I challenge you all to match my $500, as individuals or teams. Please spread this appeal far and wide for an extraordinary woman
Charla is my friend and previously a Nursing colleague.
The money will be spent on a drug treatment (Osimertinib) specific for Charla's rare cancer. If the necessary target isn't met within the time frame needed, the money will be used by Charla as she wishes.
Again, your a legend. Thanks Sharyn 😊
