Charlie competing at Cheerleading World Championships in USA!

15-yr-old Charlie is off to the International World Cheerleading Champs in April — one of 44 talented and very committed young kiwi athletes. These young people will be competing with the best across the world in Orlando Florida.

Cheer is an amazing gymnastic sport involving wonderful team work, athleticism, flips, stunts and tumbles. Watch the video to see how hard a cheer team work.

Like his team mates, Charlie is training 20 hours per week alongside fundraising efforts needed for flights and accommodation.

Cheerleading has been his passion since he was 10 and getting the chance to compete on the global stage is awesome.

Last year, over 500 cheerleading teams made up of 12,000 athletes from 21 countries participated in the Cheerleading Worlds event.

In 2024 NZ team won Level 5 International All Girl Division. This year they are entering Under 18 Level 5 Coed to try do the same thing.
