Giving a little help in hand to our friend Charlotte during her battle with Crohn's Disease and her recent operation complication.
Queenstown, Otago
Crohns disease is a form of inflammatory bowel disease. It affects everyone slightly differently but its main symptom is to cause chronic inflammation of the digestive system. It effects the lining of your intestines, damaging them and making it impossible to process food.
Charlotte has lived most of her life watching what she eats and taking different medications. She has been in and out of hospitals since her diagnosis. What people don’t know about treating Crohns is that your body can start to reject the medication quicker than normal due to it all being based around the digestive system.
On 5th July 2022 Charlotte had an operation to remove 25cm of the small intestine, some of her large intestine, her appendix and fixed up a hernia that was undiagnosed. This was a drastic step but she was feeling strong and ready to fight back the disease.
Unfortunately, Charlotte is now currently in recovery from yet another very invasive operation. On the 13th July she was flown back to Invercargill with an infection and a leak in her intestines. Her original operation had failed and the doctors have had to remove more of her intestines and she now has to live with stoma bag for at least the next 6 months. She has a long road to recovery and we want to show her some support.
We would like to be able to give her some support financially so she has the freedom to concentrate on getting her health restored with some financial stress taken care of and Thank you for any help you can give.💜💜
We are doing this as charlottes close friends, we are like sisters together and we want to support her is whatever way we can. We want to raise awareness and at the same time as creating support network for Charlotte to recover in.
This money will be spent on helping charlotte with her rent and bills, providing support for what she needs while she recovers and gets used to her new normal.
