Cheer for Laney – Help Her Get to Great White Sharks!

Kia ora/Talofa lava. My awesome daughter Laney, is a 17-year-old Kiwi girl with a lifelong dream — and it's finally coming true! After trialing for one of the world’s most iconic cheerleading teams, the Great White Sharks in Canada, she is beyond excited to share with the world that she made the team!

Cheerleading and gymnastics have been a huge part of Laney’s life since she was just 3 years old. She has spent countless hours, days, and late nights training, pushing herself to improve, and chasing the dream of performing on an International cheerleading team.

Just five weeks ago, in early May 2025, Laney received an email that changed everything. Laney was officially offered a spot on the Great White Sharks in Ontario, Canada. Laney/we couldn’t believe it… It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to train and compete overseas, learn from the best, and experience cheerleading in a whole new way.

Now comes the big challenge: getting to Canada. We and Laney are doing everything we can from working, doing odd jobs, and even begging family (Laney’s Nana) for spare change.
