Help us donate books that will support chemotherapy patients.
Nationwide
“With Chemo and Back Again, you are able to come to acceptance, peace and even joy with cancer, regardless of the outcome”.
Written by two-time cancer survivor Andrea Fairbairn, Chemo and Back again helps make chemotherapy, cancer, and recovery just that little bit easier. As the founder of Breast Cancer Nirvana and The Joy Agency, Andrea’s experience provides support and inspiration to those embarking on the chemo journey.
Andrea’s Vision
Andrea’s vision is to get this book to every person undergoing or recovering from chemotherapy. The proceeds from this campaign go to donating the book to the people who need it. The book is also available for purchase from our website.
We’ve been doing as much as we can to get these books to the people who need them, but we need your help to distribute to as many patients as possible.
About the Book
The book has been designed to make chemo recipients feel joy and hope during one of life’s most difficult times. The book:
- Provides guidance and tips on how to ‘do’ cancer, chemo and recovery
- Contains many practical tips on keeping as well as possible during chemo and
- Helps alleviate fears of chemotherapy, cancer and the side effects of treatment.
The book is 222 pages in full colour throughout. It is 20cm x 25cm. It has beautiful images, photos and bite sized tips and bits of information.
How you can help
Every dollar donated towards this cause helps us to produce books for patients undergoing chemotherapy.
Every $30 we receive will be equal to one book that we can donate. Any donation (no matter its size) is valued, and we will keep updating our supporters with a tally of how many books we have been able to give to those who need them.
If you donate $30 you will have sponsored getting a book to a patient.
In recognition, we will record your name in a public list and add it inside of the cover of the particular book that you have sponsored.
Please note: for us to do so we will require you to record your name when you donate.
If there is a particular hospital within New Zealand (or anywhere in the world!) that you would like to have the book sent to, please include that in the notes. We will make sure that it will happen.
Cost breakdown
There a number of costs involved in the process. These include:
- The cost of printing the book (around $25NZD per book)
- The cost of shipping the book to hospitals (around $6NZD per book)
- From 1st September 5% will also go towards Givealittle’s fees.
$30 for book sponsorship will cover the majority of these fees; the rest will be covered by the Joy Agency.
