Cheryl is a fighter but she needs you in her corner so she can live a pain-free life, and get well enough to help others.

What do you do when you are suffering from excruciating pain due to cancer in the spine, and the medication taken to prevent it coming back?
Well, you volunteer to work for free for the Sir Ray Avery Foundation and make nutritional and medical products accessible to those in need.
Cheryl is a remarkable woman with a huge heart. Her laughter, love and passion for making the world a better place is inspirational. Cheryl was first diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 36 in 2009, and with cancer of the spine four years later. While living with cancer, she has done everything to keep going; to be present for her twelve-year-old daughter; while still trying to do good for others.
But the cancer is taking its toll and she's on medication that has enormous side effects, including chronic pain throughout her body. She is in bed for days, unable to get up and be the mum she wants to be to Grace.
With only minimal payment from her benefit, life is sparse for Cheryl. There isn't anything left over once food and rent are paid for. With chronic pain and with the financial stress of being unable to pay for basic therapeutic remedies to ease her pain, it places unnecessary stress on her life when she should be focusing on getting better.
So it's time to give back to someone who has worked tirelessly for the good of others.
The funds raised will help with modulating the effects of cancer, and your moral support will also lift her spirits.
Cheryl is a fighter but she needs you in her corner so she can live a pain-free life, look after her daughters Grace and knowing Cheryl, get well enough to help others.
Cheryl is a hero and we should support her because she exemplifies the best of who we are as humankind.
Anna Kiousis (page creator) is Cheryl's friend. Cheryl volunteered for our charity for three years while living with cancer. She gave so much of her time, skills and laughter to the charity and worked with great alacrity. Now, it's our turn to help her.
Funds raised will contribute towards pain relief therapies including acupuncture, massage therapy, Vitamin C, magnesium, muscle strengthening classes and care when she needs it.
Caring whilst in lockdown 7 April 2020
Thank you all for your recent messages and support whilst we are all in lockdown. It is a tough time for everyone at the moment as we are separated from the many people and things that are nearest and dearest to our hearts.
So to have you reach out to someone such as me, has been magnificently uplifting and rewarding.
So once again, I wanted to share how much your love and support has changed everything for Gracie, Samuel and I ❤️ We can not thank you enough, and in fact, we have shared our thanks to you with the rest of New Zealand - which you can see in Women’s Day - dated 6th April 2020.
So thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!
We will remember this time for the rest of our lives and now include you as a part of our “family” on this journey with cancer 🥰
Kia Kaha - stay safe and stay strong
