To assist with paying for Chics rising vet bills.
Bay of Plenty
I would really appreciate some support in assisting me to pay for veterinary care for my unwell Shetland sheepdog. After spending a very large sum of money so far, the veterinary care team are still no closer to finding a diagnosis for her. I am not ready to give up on her yet, so any help provided would mean a lot to both of us.
Chica was given to me as a 13th birthday gift, and has been there for me as I have grown up. She is a constant in my life and is definitely my emotional support. She has always been at my side, much to the amusement of everyone who knows me. She would come horse riding with me, to parties, camping and even on boat trips. Now that I have grown up it's a bit less adventurous (which suits her as she ages), however she is still my mascot in my startup business and does retirement home visits to help the elderly. My favourite part of every day is getting home to see my baby and the thought of losing her is unbearable. She is only 9 so I want many more happy years with her.
She started getting more and more infections starting November last year and hasn't been well since then, including a lung infection, UTIs, ear infections etc.
We have tested for allergens, done blood panels, ultrasounds, x rays, carried out a camera scope and taken biopsies with no results. Next step is to take her to Palmerston North, where there is a specialist veterinary hospital, where hopefully they will be able to provide a diagnosis, and then carry out a treatment plan.
The vet bills have risen to a very high figure, and trying to cover the entire cost myself is now proving to be very stressful and any help given will go directly to assist in covering these costs.
Funds will go straight to the vets.
