Help me purchase "seconds" copies of my book, Rupert's black dog, that will get rubbished otherwise, that I would love to donate to schools.
Canterbury
Last year I was able to work, fundraise, save and self publish my children's book Rupert's black dog. It follows the journey of a boy finding his way through and learning to manage anxiety and depression. So far, I am getting incredible feedback from a wide range of sources and hearing stories of it helping people to make a real difference for themselves. Professionals in the mental health industry are talking about it, the Christchurch city libraries stock it, MHERC (Mental health education resource centre) are also stocking it, Scorpio books have taken it on, and a school in Auckland has it and wants to share the tools with their students.
Unfortunately approx. 500 of the copies were supplied with excessive glue blobs, which mean I cannot sell them. For a small free I am able to save the damaged copies which would only be going into the rubbish which seems wasteful, crazy and heartbreaking to me.
Any money raised through here will go towards buying these "damaged" books and paying for the postage of these.
These books have the potential to make a real difference for a lot of people.
Please feel free to nominate a school of your choice in the comments.
Money will be spent on the purchase of the seconds books and the postage of these to as many schools throughout the country as I can.
If I raise more money than necessary I will use whatever is left to post as many "undamaged" books as I can to schools.
