Help for extra costs associated with an extended stay due to illness
Taranaki
Hi all i have started this page for my old high school buddy Chris Wilkes who was Diagnosed with a kidney condition in 2008, he had a kidney transplant in 2012 which sadly his body started rejecting in 2014 so after removal of his gifted kidney he was back on the waiting list and began adding to his approximate 58000 hours of dialysis, with much joy and a lot of rushing around he again was the recipient of a new kidney just this week AND so far so good his recovery although painful is going really well and he is on track to be back into his usual busy life in a few weeks. This of course means an extended stay in Auckland, with this comes more financial burden as in Auckland he needs to be near the hospital which is subsidized but still costs and of course it is quite some distance from his newly acquired home in Taranaki which he must still pay the mortgage on add in all the expenses his support people will be enduring during this healing time and costs start adding up
For many years i have seen Chris even through his illness fighting for causes that will ensure a better future for all people in NZ, He is the first to take on environmental issues and lend a hand to anybody in need even going as far as to run on the local council and mayoral race, so now we can finally give back to Chris and show him how much we appreciate him and all the hard yards he puts in
side note to add we are very grateful for this newly gifted kidney and the donor and donors family are in our thoughts and hearts, being an organ donor is a beautiful thing so please consider organ donation for yourself and loved ones
I have known Chris since high school and have his permission to set this up, all funds are being paid directly to Chris for his benefit
funds to be uses to cover expenses at the discretion of Chris
