It's time for Christchurch to support the people of Kurashiki after their devastating floods - the same way they supported us post-quake.
Canterbury
There has been devastating flooding, landslides and resulting deaths in western Japan, including in Christchurch's sister city Kurashiki. On the morning of Wednesday 11 July there were 46 confirmed deaths in Kurashiki, over 3,900 people sheltered in city evacuation centres, and around 7,630 homes totally flooded.
Kurashiki was extremely generous in its funding and aid support to Christchurch following our 2011 earthquake: their citizens donated over NZ $20,000 through collection boxes. In the link below Mayor Dalziel appeals to the people of Christchurch to dig deep in return:

The year 2018 also marks the 45th anniversary of our relationship with Kurashiki.
Please consider donating via this Givealittle page. Donation boxes have also been placed in Christchurch city libraries.

The city of Kurashiki in Japan is Christchurch's sister city. The people of Kurashiki gave generously to Christchurch after the 2011 earthquake. Following the devastating floods there, it's our turn to support them.
All funds raised will be paid to a verified account of the Kurashiki Sister City Committee, for on-passing to the people of Kurashiki.
