Christine Brown -Major facial reconstruction surgery.

Christine has Neurofibromatosis which causes tumors to develop where any nerve is situated within the body inside and out they can be benign or Cancerous , She was born with this terrible condition and to date there is no cure , She has had over 17 operations done up to date without much success and with new technology changing in the future she has been offered to have a full face reconstruction surgery performed in three stages with 1 being bone taken from her leg and skull and then crafted into a complete cheekbone and other pieces to be fitted like a jig saw puzzle because of the time and complexity involved to rebuild whats missing . She is happily married to Lee and they have been together coming up 32 years , they also have 3 children , Janina aged 28 , Cohen aged 23 whom also has NF1 and very serious health problems too , but thats another story , and Farrin aged 18 . They are also bringing up there 2 grandchildren as well Aluria aged 8 and Zara aged 4 . This surgery is going to be very intense and as a family we would love to be together when this happens within the next couple of months so were altogether .Also Christine will be having 3 separate operations to complete the task on hand , So 1 then stay 10 days and home , then back up for number 2 and stay 10 to 14 days then home and finally back up for the 3rd which will be the last one .We live in Invercargill so will have to travel to Dunedin once we have our first date Dr Matthew Leaper will be the surgeon .Christine is also a Cancer survivor having three ribs removed after a Neurofibroma turned Cancerous with a very aggressive form of Cancer , she was given fifteen mths to live , she lost her job at IHC because of time taken off and her determination to live won . She is still here .
