Christmas celebration for former refugees
This fund will go towards creating a very special Christmas event for our clients (who are former refugees) and their families.

NFACT provides full wrap-around support for refugees. We are an organisation run by experienced, qualified refugees, for refugees. We provide ongoing resettlement support – basic necessities to set up homes; trauma and mental health services; and activities to help settle into communities. To increase social inclusion, we run workshops, counselling, activities and events to help refugees live well in their local communities.
With these funds, we will:
1. Host a Christmas event for our refugee families as a way for them to appreciate Christmas, and feel included in the festive season. Many families will not have a chance to celebrate Christmas, so this is a special day where they can socialise with their community. It has been a very tough year for our clients, and this is an opportunity for bonding and festivities, to be entertained and for the kids to have some fun.
2. Provide goodie bags to our families, and pay for the food, beverages, decorations, and event set-up.
3. Create an opportunity to acknowledge our unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly with us over the year.
About us
New Settlers Family and Community Trust (NFACT) provides flexible, culturally and linguistically appropriate services for former refugee and migrant families. This includes, as much as possible, services by refugees for refugees.
Use of funds
A Christmas celebration for our Afghan clients and their families, and a way to acknowledge the many volunteers in our organisation.
