A non-profit, volunteer-driven initiative to buy and hand out Christmas presents to homeless people on the streets of Auckland
Auckland
The rising cost of living has affected all New-Zealanders, but the impact is most noticeable on the streets. The number of people rough sleeping is observably high, and in Auckland, systemic change has failed to produce substantial results for these people who struggle in their everyday lives. Finding food, shelter, and safety are of paramount importance to the survival of homeless people, but at the end of the day, these are people who want and need love, compassion and human connection.
What better time to bring together community spirit than Christmas, and how better to do that than by giving presents to the people on the streets? To help even one person, is to make the world a slightly better place.
All donations will go towards buying gifts such as clothing and food for homeless people on the street. I am also looking for volunteers to help drive this project behind the scenes! Flick an email to saramckoy2776@gmail.com or message me on Instagram @saramckoy
