Christmas reunion ruined

$130 of $4,000 goal
Given by 3 generous donors in around 6 months

I hope to get a support to visit my family in winter next year after got robbed out close to my flight.

Canterbury

Hi everyone,

My Name is Deniz, I'm 25 years old and I'm from Germany.

On Sunday the 17th of December my car got robbed out 6 hrs before my flight to Germany.

My intention was it to surprise my family on Christmas after I haven't seen them for 1,5 years . Especially my father who just get trough a couple of surgeries after a bad accident.

Therefore I was saving money the last couple of months to afford the flight ticket and Christmas presents for the whole family.

The worst of all of it is that all my travel documents are stolen and i can't fly back during Christmas.

I have to apply now for a new travel passport in Wellington which takes 6-8 weeks. After that I need to transfer my work visa to my new passport which takes another 10 days to process it.

In the end I do not have enough time to arrange new travel documents.

All in all the financial damage summarizes up to 4000 NZD.

I paid in total 2300 NZD for the flight tickets which is unfortunately not refundable.

Additionally 2 backpacks, my friends car key, all my clothing, a dairy, headphones, laptop and my Christmas presents

( All Blacks jersey for my dad, greenstone necklaces for my mother, sister and grandmother) are stolen.

I know that it's all replaceable but the financial damage is really bad for me.

My colleagues from work have already supported me with clothing and even one of them invited me to Christmas dinner which gives me already a good feeling.

I hope now, that you guys can support me to afford a new flight ticket to Germany so that I can see my family in Winter again.

I wish you all nice Christmas days and a good start into New Year.

Deniz

2% Effective Fee
On average, fundraisers pay just 2% to use Givealittle. This is one of the lowest effective fees in New Zealand fundraising. We charge a 5% platform fee to cover the cost of running the platform. Because most donors choose to top up their donation to cover this fee, the effective cost paid by fundraisers is about 2%. That means around 98 cents of every dollar raised goes to the cause.
