Yegya, a Nepalese, is celebrating his first Christmas and needs NZD$2000 (USD1400) for life saving treatment for a communicable disease.

Join with me in contributing the gift of life to Yegya Bista and his family this Christmas. He supports 2 aging parents, his wife, and 2 young girls. Your generous gift would enable him to receive the medical treatment he needs to resume work....the best possible Christmas gift! Let me explain the background..
In early 2016 Yegya briefly returned to Nepal for a period of home leave from his job in Kuala Lumpur and I subsequently visited Nepal and asked him to guide me around his beautiful country. It was a stunning trip where I viewed the incredible scenery of the Himalayas and countryside, the rich cultural heritage, world heritage sites, and the incredible friendliness of the people. This trip cemented our friendship...we became brothers. Unfortunately shortly after returning to Kuala Lumpur to commence work Yega became extremely ill and was found to have contracted Hepatitus C. This is probably through his living conditions where he was in a dormitory with 70 other Neaplese men. He has lost approximately 20kg in weight (he was never big) and now unable to work. He is very weak. His Malaysian employer wiped his hands of the matter by simply sending Yegya back to Nepal (effectively dumping him at the airport).
I hope this Christmas you will join with me in giving towards Yegya's medical costs. It would mean the world to me if you would give just a little and I pledge to match every dollar you give. Hepatitus C is a serious life threatening condition, BUT IT IS TREATABLE WITH YOUR HELP. The medicine for a 12 week dose of generic treatment is NZD$1300 (USD$900) in addition he needs a small contribution to cover basic living costs while he undergoes treatment so I am aiming for NZD$2000 (USD$1400).
This is Yegya's first ever Christmas, as he became a Christian during the year. Lets wish Yegya a Merry Christmas together!
Over the last few years I have been simultaneously impressed by the level of service provided by Nepalese guards/cleaning staff and yet appalled at the manner in which they are treated. I have found that a smile and a friendly chat goes a long way. Three years ago I had a minor stroke (a TIA actually) and as part of my recuperation started walking/running around my neighborhood. It is then that I met Yegya Bista working in Nexus Bangsar South (Kuala Lumpur) as a security guard. Day by day we exchanged words and over time became friends. I found that he is married and has two young daughters in the Jumla, Nepal (i.e. a mountainous rural area of Nepal). He also supports his aging parents. Over time he gradually described his appalling living and work conditions in Kuala Lumpur (i.e. USD 250 per month; 12 hours work a day; no weekends off; 70 people sleeping in one dormitory; no airconditioning). It is no wonder he later got sick!
Update on Yegya 30 December 2019
Yegya, has recovered from hepatitus C thanks to your support. He continues to struggle to put on weight, an indication perhaps of the damage done to his liver. He has however been able to resume work as a forest ranger for the Nepal Government. While this gives a regular income it is very modest and the family needs to supplement the monthly income of NZD250 with selling milk at market.
Thanks for all your support.
Thank you very much for your kind donation. I am sorry I dont know your identity but you can rest assured that your donation is well received and will be used in what we hope is Yegyas last treatment next week. Thank you!
